Remote printing
Print on the other computer and receive the document on your side, to print on your own printer or keep as a PDF.
How it works#
- During a session, print on the other computer from any app and choose the printer named "RFDesk Printer".
- The document is sent to your side as a PDF. A notice shows that a document is being printed, and then that it has arrived.
- Press Print to print it on a printer of your own device, or Save to keep the PDF.
Nothing is printed until you choose. In the browser viewer, Print opens the document in a new tab to print from there; if the browser blocks the tab, use Save and print the PDF.
Set it up on the other computer#
Remote printing is set up once on the computer that will be reached, in RFDesk's settings under Remote printing:
- Set up adds the "RFDesk Printer" to that computer. Windows asks for administrator approval.
- Allow remote printing has to be on. Off means nothing printed there is ever sent to the other side.
If a document does not arrive#
If the notice says a printed document did not arrive, it was too large or the connection dropped. Print it again on the other computer. If remote printing is not offered at all, it is not set up or not allowed there; a team's policy can lock it off.
